For those who wish to learn Carpentry, TESDA together with a number of TESDA accredited schools and TESDA training centers, are offering TESDA approved Carpentry training course. The carpentry training courses offered have NC II and NC III qualifications. For Carpentry NC II, the minimum training duration required by TESDA is 162 hours. Of the said training duration, 18 hours will be used learning the basic competency for Carpentry NC II, 24 hours will be spent learning common competency, and 120 hours is allotted for learning core competency.
To qualify for training in Carpentry NC II, a student enrollee must meet the following qualifications:
- A holder of National Certificate Level I.
- Good Moral Character.
- Ability to communicate.
- Physically fit and mentally healthy.
- Can perform basic mathematical computation and mensuration.
Carpentry NC III on the other hand has a required minimum training duration of 364 hours where 20 hours of which will used in learning the basic competency for Carpentry NC III. For common competency, 24 will be allotted and 320 hours for core competency.
To gain entry in Carpentry NC III, an student enrollee should have the following qualifications:
- Can communicate both oral and written
- Physically and mentally fit
- With good moral character
- Can perform basic mathematical computation and mensuration
- Ability to communicate ideas
